30 + Years of Training and Empowering Women
As much as women have gained recognition and are in leadership roles today, we still have far to go. As a woman who built businesses with and for men, I never thought enough of myself to start my own. I spent years helping others become successful, but I was nervous, even scared to make the leap myself. When my then boss told me he had to cut my commission after I made him millions and his business was booming, a lightbulb went off. I knew it was time to move on. I had just bought a house, had a mortgage, and was in the middle of renovating my kitchen. I couldn’t let fear interfere; I decided in 2007 even though the economy was tanking that I had to start my business. I had to motivate myself and remember what I did for others. In essence, I had to transform to become my best self. There was no room for failure. I did make plenty of mistakes along the way, but in the end, I built a successful business. Then, years later, confident in my abilities, I started a women’s empowerment networking organization and magazine called P.O.W.E.R. (Professional Organization of Women of Excellence Recognized). I wanted to empower and help other women.
