Lately, there’s been a lot of talk about whether men should be allowed to compete in women’s sports. As a woman who believes deeply in the value of female empowerment, I feel compelled to speak up and share my thoughts on this important—and yes, sensitive—issue.
Supporting women and celebrating our achievements has always been close to my heart. I’ve seen firsthand how powerful it is when women lift each other up, when our hard work is recognized, and when we’re given real opportunities to grow and thrive. Sports are a big part of that. They give girls and women the chance to challenge themselves, build confidence, and take pride in what they’ve earned through dedication and determination.
That’s why I feel so strongly about protecting fairness in women’s athletics.
Let’s be honest: biology matters. After puberty, males generally have advantages in muscle mass, bone density, and cardiovascular performance. These aren’t small differences—they can have a real impact on the outcome of a game, a race, or even someone’s safety on the field. And while hormone therapy may change some things, it doesn’t erase all those advantages.
This isn’t about being exclusionary or unsupportive of anyone’s identity. It’s about preserving the progress women have fought so hard to make. When women compete against other women, we know the playing field is level. That’s what gives our achievements real meaning. Every medal, scholarship, and roster spot should reflect a fair fight.
I care about this issue because I care about the next generation of girls who are just beginning to find their place in the world. They deserve to know that their efforts will be judged fairly, that their dreams matter, and that the opportunities available to them are protected.
This conversation isn’t easy, and I don’t pretend to have all the answers. But I do know this: empowering women means standing up for our right to fair competition. It means making sure our voices are heard when it truly counts.
I’m sharing this not to cause division, but to help others understand what’s at stake. My hope is that we can continue this discussion with empathy and honesty—and that we can all work together to create a future where women are seen, respected, and given every chance to succeed.
No matter how this debate continues, I will always advocate for fairness, dignity, and spaces where women can shine—because we deserve nothing less.
